Group Display: City Diorama

For my contribution to the display, I saw that most people were making structures and buildings, and that there were comparatively few people to populate the city.

To address this, I made use of the drawings I had already produced by making small cutout versions of the sketches that would stand on their own. The scale of the figures makes the overall display evoke the feeling of looking at a playset – introducing a sense of fun and personality to the environment.

The cutouts themselves are made in the simplest way I could come up with – a folded strip of masking tape with the design drawn directly on. This provides a sturdy base for them to stand up, and forces uniformity of scale.
