Throughout my time at primary and secondary school, I made a habit of drawing on loose sheets of paper during presentations and other extended periods of essentially being talked at.

I find that I concentrate more easily when doing something, as otherwise my mind is left to wander. As I pursued fine art, I realised the potential of harnessing this activity as part of my overall body of work. In my first year as an illustration student, I started from scratch with a new book dedicated entirely to this method. Whenever we were called to the front as a group, I picked up this pad and a ballpoint pen, and continued to draw until we were dismissed.
